chasuble

Priest's outer garment

A chasuble is the outermost liturgical vestment worn by clergy during the celebration of Mass or Eucharist in Catholic, Anglican, and some Lutheran churches.

It's a large, poncho-like garment with an opening for the head, draped over the shoulders and falling to about knee length.

Chasubles vary in color according to the liturgical season: The priest donned a purple chasuble for Lent.
