Tractarianism
Anglican Catholic revival
Tractarianism was a nineteenth-century movement within the Church of England emphasizing Catholic traditions and the apostolic origins of the Anglican church.
Named for the *Tracts for the Times* published at Oxford beginning in 1833, it sought to counter liberal theology and Protestant influence.
The movement shaped Anglo-Catholicism and is also called the Oxford Movement.
