Christian Science

Healing through faith

Christian Science is a religious movement founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1879, centered on the belief that illness and suffering are illusions that can be overcome through prayer and spiritual understanding rather than medical treatment.

Adherents hold that reality is entirely spiritual and that physical matter, including disease, has no true existence.

The Church of Christ, Scientist publishes the respected newspaper *The Christian Science Monitor*.

She was raised in Christian Science and never saw doctors as a child.
