anti-ritualism
Against formal rites
Anti-ritualism is opposition to ritual, ceremony, or formalized religious practice.
The term appears mainly in discussions of Protestant movements that rejected elaborate liturgy in favor of simpler worship: The Puritans' anti-ritualism stripped churches of ornamentation.
More broadly, it can describe resistance to any prescribed ceremonial behavior.
