garden city
Verdant urban planning
A garden city is a planned community designed to combine the advantages of urban and rural living, typically featuring low-density housing, abundant green space, and separation from industrial areas.
The concept emerged in the early twentieth century as an alternative to crowded, polluted cities: The neighborhood was laid out on garden city principles.
More loosely, any city with extensive parks and greenery. (Capitalized Garden City is a place name.)
