Tiny Tim

Small ailing child

Tiny Tim is the frail, crippled child in Charles Dickens's *A Christmas Carol* (1843), whose cheerful spirit despite poverty and illness helps prompt Scrooge's moral transformation.

The character has become a cultural symbol of innocence endangered by hardship and indifference.

His line "God bless us, every one!" is among the most quoted in English literature.

The name is sometimes applied to any vulnerable child whose fate depends on others' generosity. (Tiny Tim was also the stage name of an American singer known for his falsetto and ukulele.)
