parody songs
Comedic song versions
Parody songs are musical compositions that imitate existing songs while substituting new, usually humorous lyrics.
The melody remains recognizable while the words mock the original, comment on current events, or create absurd scenarios: "Weird Al" Yankovic built a career on parody songs.
The form requires the audience to know the source material for full effect.
