Stations of the Cross
Christ's journey depicted
Stations of the Cross is a series of fourteen images, typically arranged along the walls of a church, depicting events from Jesus Christ's condemnation to his burial.
Catholics and some other Christians move from station to station, pausing at each for prayer and meditation, especially during Lent.
The devotional practice dates to medieval times when it served as a substitute for pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
We walked the Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent.
