Sega
Japanese gaming giant
Sega is a Japanese video game company that dominated arcade gaming in the 1980s and competed fiercely with Nintendo in home consoles through the 1990s.
The Genesis (called Mega Drive outside North America) and Dreamcast were its flagship systems.
After exiting hardware in 2001, Sega became a third-party game publisher.
The name derives from "service games."
