San Rafael

Marin County capital

San Rafael is a city in Marin County, California, just north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge.

It serves as the county seat and is the largest city in Marin.

The name, Spanish for Saint Raphael, comes from the mission founded there in 1817.
