SLRs

Reflex camera type

SLRs is the plural of SLR, which stands for single-lens reflex—a type of camera where the viewfinder sees through the same lens that takes the picture, using a mirror and prism system.

SLRs dominated serious photography for decades before digital cameras largely replaced film models.

The term now typically means DSLRs (digital SLRs): She shoots with one of the new mirrorless cameras, but her old SLRs are still in the closet.
