SAT

College entrance exam

The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States.

Originally called the Scholastic Aptitude Test, the name was later changed to Scholastic Assessment Test, and now SAT is officially just a name, not an acronym.

High school students typically take the SAT in their junior or senior year: She scored 1450 on the SAT. (Lowercase sat is the past tense of sit.)
