Pasteur
Microbiology pioneer's name
Louis Pasteur was a nineteenth-century French chemist and microbiologist whose discoveries revolutionized medicine and biology.
He proved that germs cause disease, developed vaccines for rabies and anthrax, and created the heat-treatment process that bears his name: pasteurization.
His work laid the foundation for modern immunology and microbiology.
