pasteurized milk
Safely heated beverage
Pasteurized milk is milk that has been heated to kill harmful bacteria and extend shelf life.
The process, named for French scientist Louis Pasteur, heats milk to a specific temperature for a set time, then rapidly cools it.
Most commercial milk is pasteurized; raw milk is the unpasteurized alternative.
