Palm Pilot
Nineties digital assistant
Palm Pilot was an early handheld personal digital assistant (PDA) introduced in 1996, featuring a touchscreen operated with a stylus.
Users could store contacts, calendars, and notes, syncing data with desktop computers.
The device pioneered pocket computing before smartphones made PDAs obsolete.
The name became nearly generic for any PDA: I kept my whole schedule on my Palm Pilot.
