Leather-bound personal organizer
Filofax is a brand of personal organizer—a ring-bound planner with removable pages for calendars, contacts, and notes.
Popular in the 1980s as a status symbol among professionals, the name became somewhat generic for any similar leather-bound organizer: She pulled out her Filofax to check her schedule.
The format has largely been displaced by digital calendars and smartphones.
