Obamacare
Affordable Care Act
Obamacare is the informal name for the Affordable Care Act, the 2010 U.S. healthcare reform law signed by President Barack Obama.
Originally used by critics, the term was eventually embraced by supporters and Obama himself.
It expanded insurance coverage through mandates, subsidies, and Medicaid expansion: I got my insurance through Obamacare.
The term remains politically charged, with usage often signaling the speaker's stance on the law.
