Newton's third law

Action causes reaction

Newton's third law states that every action produces an equal and opposite reaction.

When one object exerts a force on another, the second object exerts an equivalent force back: a swimmer pushes water backward, the water pushes the swimmer forward.

The principle extends metaphorically to social dynamics—Every political action triggers its Newton's third law reaction.
