Necronomicon
Fictional occult book
The Necronomicon is a fictional grimoire—a book of dark magic and forbidden knowledge—invented by horror writer H.P.
Lovecraft.
In his stories, it contains rituals for summoning cosmic entities and secrets that drive readers mad.
The book has taken on a life beyond Lovecraft's fiction; hoax versions have been published, and it's referenced across horror media as though it were real: The cultists consulted the Necronomicon.
