Re-Animator is a 1985 horror-comedy film about a medical student who develops a serum to revive the dead, based on an H.P.
Lovecraft story.
The film became a cult classic for its over-the-top gore and dark humor.
By extension, a re-animator is anyone or anything that brings the dead back to life: He fancied himself a re-animator of forgotten musical styles.
