Michelin Guide

Culinary star source

The Michelin Guide is a series of travel and restaurant guides published by the French tire company Michelin, originally created to encourage driving (and tire purchases).

Its restaurant ratings—one to three stars—have become the most prestigious benchmark in fine dining: a three-Michelin-star restaurant.

Chefs build careers pursuing stars; losing one can be devastating.
