MeToo
Silence finally broken
MeToo refers to the social movement against sexual abuse and harassment, named for the hashtag #MeToo that went viral in 2017.
The phrase signals solidarity among survivors sharing their experiences: The MeToo movement transformed workplace policies.
Tarana Burke originated the phrase in 2006; Alyssa Milano popularized the hashtag. (Lowercase metoo is informal for "me too.")
