King Richard
Crusading English sovereign
King Richard refers to any of three English monarchs named Richard.
Richard I, called the Lionheart, was the crusading medieval king.
Richard III is remembered through Shakespeare's portrayal as a scheming hunchback who murdered his nephews.
The phrase sometimes appears in historical dramas or as a formal address: King Richard rode at the head of his army.
