Kashi

Whole-grain breakfast maker

Kashi is an ancient name for the Indian city of Varanasi, one of Hinduism's holiest sites on the Ganges River.

The name derives from Sanskrit meaning "shining" or "city of light." Pilgrims visit Kashi for spiritual purification and to die there, believed to grant liberation from the cycle of rebirth.

Separately, Kashi is an American brand of health-oriented breakfast cereals and snacks: I grabbed a Kashi bar for the road.
