Irish Americans

Green heritage citizens

Irish Americans are Americans of Irish descent, one of the largest ethnic groups in the United States.

The term encompasses descendants of both Catholic immigrants who fled famine and poverty in the 19th century and earlier Protestant settlers from Ulster.

Irish American identity remains strong in cities like Boston, Chicago, and New York, celebrated through institutions, parades, and political influence.

My grandparents were Irish American on both sides.
