heritage month
Annual ancestry celebration
A heritage month is a designated period—typically a calendar month—for honoring and celebrating the history, culture, and contributions of a particular group, usually an ethnic or racial minority.
In the United States, examples include Black History Month (February) and Hispanic Heritage Month (mid-September to mid-October).
The library put up a special display for Asian American heritage month.
