Indian rhino

One-horned pachyderm

The Indian rhino, also called the greater one-horned rhinoceros, is a large mammal native to the Indian subcontinent, found mainly in northeastern India and Nepal.

Distinguished by its single horn and thick, folded skin that resembles armor plating, it is the largest of the Asian rhino species.

Indian rhinos were once hunted nearly to extinction but have recovered through conservation efforts.
