Grimsby

English coastal town

Grimsby is a fishing port and industrial town in northeastern England, on the Humber estuary in Lincolnshire.

Once one of the world's largest fishing ports, it declined sharply after the Cod Wars with Iceland restricted British fishing grounds.

The town now appears in British speech as shorthand for post-industrial decline: not exactly Grimsby suggests somewhere more prosperous or appealing.
