Nirvana
Liberation from suffering
Nirvana was an American rock band formed in 1987, central to the grunge movement that emerged from Seattle in the early 1990s.
Led by Kurt Cobain, the band achieved massive success with their 1991 album Nevermind before Cobain's death in 1994: Nirvana changed rock music forever. (Lowercase nirvana is the Buddhist concept of transcendence.)
