GSR

Electrodermal activity measurement

GSR stands for galvanic skin response—changes in the electrical conductance of skin caused by sweat gland activity.

Since sweating increases with emotional arousal, GSR measurements are used in lie detectors, psychological research, and biofeedback devices: The GSR readings spiked when he heard the victim's name.

Also called electrodermal response or skin conductance.
