Fa Mulan
Fa Mulan is the protagonist of the 1998 Disney animated film *Mulan*, based on the Chinese legendary figure Hua Mulan.
In the story, she disguises herself as a man to take her aging father's place in the army.
The name has become shorthand for a woman who defies gender expectations through courage and deception: She pulled a Mulan and joined the all-male team.
