Entebbe

Ugandan lakeside city

Entebbe is a city in Uganda on the northern shore of Lake Victoria, serving as the site of the country's main international airport.

It was the colonial-era capital before independence.

The name evokes the 1976 Israeli commando raid that rescued hostages from a hijacked Air France flight: the raid on Entebbe.
