Dieppe

Norman coastal town

Dieppe is a port city on the northern coast of France, situated on the English Channel in the Normandy region.

It is historically significant as the site of the Dieppe Raid in 1942, a disastrous Allied assault during World War II that resulted in heavy Canadian casualties.

The city has long served as a fishing port and ferry terminal for cross-Channel travel to England.

We caught the ferry from Dieppe to Newhaven.
