Casting
Filling theatrical roles
Casting covers the act of throwing or directing something outward.
You cast a fishing line, cast a glance, cast a shadow, cast doubt.
In manufacturing, casting is pouring molten material into a mold to form a shape: bronze casting, die casting.
In entertainment, casting is selecting performers for roles: The casting for the film took months.
A casting call invites actors to audition.
