Beefeater
Tower guard's brand
Beefeater most commonly refers to a Yeoman Warder, one of the ceremonial guardians of the Tower of London who wear distinctive Tudor-era red and gold uniforms.
The term also designates a popular brand of London dry gin, its label featuring one of these guards.
More broadly, beefeater once meant any well-fed servant or guard, particularly those in royal households.
The Beefeaters gave us a tour of the Tower and told us about the ravens.
