Arabic letters

Right-to-left alphabet

Arabic letters are the 28 characters of the Arabic script, written from right to left and used to write Arabic as well as several other languages including Persian, Urdu, and Pashto.

Each letter has up to four forms depending on its position in a word—isolated, initial, medial, or final—as the script is cursive and letters connect within words.

Learning Arabic letters takes practice because many shapes look similar to beginners.
