American Sniper
Elite military sharpshooter
American Sniper is a 2014 war film directed by Clint Eastwood, based on the autobiography of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who was credited as the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history.
The film follows Kyle's tours in Iraq and his struggles with PTSD upon returning home.
It sparked debate about war, heroism, and the portrayal of combat: American Sniper broke box office records for a January release.
