salah
Muslim daily prayer
Salah is the ritual prayer performed by Muslims five times daily, one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
The prayers follow prescribed movements—standing, bowing, prostrating—while facing Mecca: He excused himself for salah.
Also spelled salat.
The word comes from Arabic meaning prayer or worship.
