x-ray film
Skeletal image sheet
X-ray film is photographic film designed to capture images produced by x-ray radiation passing through objects or body parts.
In medical imaging, the developed film shows bones and dense tissues as white areas, soft tissues as gray, and air-filled spaces as dark: The x-ray film revealed a hairline fracture.
Though largely replaced by digital imaging, x-ray film remains in use and the term persists even for digital captures.
