welly

Waterproof garden footwear

Welly is British slang for a Wellington boot—a tall rubber boot for wet or muddy conditions: Don't forget your wellies, it's been raining all week.

The plural wellies is more common than the singular.

Separately, to give it some welly means to apply more effort or force: Give it some welly!
