A weeb is someone obsessively interested in Japanese culture, especially anime and manga.
The term began as an insult (shortened from weeaboo) but has been partially reclaimed by fans themselves: I stayed up all night watching anime like the weeb I am.
It implies someone whose enthusiasm crosses into cringe territory—collecting figurines, learning Japanese phrases, adopting anime mannerisms.
Some distinguish weeb (casual fan) from weeaboo (insufferable obsessive), though usage varies.
