Raws are unprocessed or unedited versions of media, particularly anime episodes, manga chapters, or video footage in their original language before translation or subtitle work.
In anime and manga communities, fans seek out raws to view content before official translations become available: I found the raws for the latest episode but I'll wait for subs.
The term extends to photography and video editing, where raw files contain uncompressed data straight from the camera sensor.
