Fictional cartoon beloved
Waifu is internet slang for a fictional female character someone has strong romantic or obsessive affection for—typically from anime, manga, or video games.
Borrowed from how Japanese speakers approximate the English word "wife," it's used both earnestly and ironically: She's been my waifu since I first watched the show.
The male equivalent is husbando.
