warfighter
Armed forces combatant
Warfighter is military jargon for a soldier or other combat personnel—anyone who fights in wars.
The term emerged in Pentagon bureaucracy and defense contracting, where it serves as a catch-all for service members across branches: equipment designed with the warfighter in mind, putting resources in the hands of warfighters.
Critics find it needlessly abstract, preferring soldier, sailor, or Marine.
