unroping
Freeing from lines
Unroping is the act of detaching from a rope, particularly in mountaineering when climbers disconnect from the safety line that binds them together.
Climbers unrope when terrain becomes safe enough to proceed independently, or when the rope becomes more hindrance than help: We unroped at the summit and spread out to take photos.
