fixed-line
Stationary phone connection
Fixed-line describes telecommunications delivered through physical cables rather than wireless signals.
A fixed-line telephone connects to a wall jack; fixed-line internet comes through fiber or copper wires.
The term distinguishes traditional wired service from mobile: Fixed-line subscriptions have declined as households rely on cell phones.
