unfranchised
Denied the ballot
Unfranchised means lacking the right to vote or denied political representation.
The term appears in historical and legal contexts discussing who could participate in elections: Women remained unfranchised in most countries until the twentieth century.
It can also mean not granted a commercial franchise, though this use is rare.
