turnback
Retracing one's path
A turnback is someone or something that turns back—a person who reverses course, a design element that folds over, or the act of returning.
Border enforcement uses the term for migrants turned away at a crossing point.
In textiles, a turnback is a cuff or lapel folded back on itself: the velvet turnbacks on her coat.
