tubuli
Tiny hollow structures
Tubuli is the plural of tubulus, a small tube or tube-like structure.
The term appears almost exclusively in scientific contexts—anatomy, biology, and histology—describing microscopic tubular formations: renal tubuli, seminiferous tubuli.
In most contemporary usage, the Anglicized plural tubules has largely displaced tubuli.
