triple-decker
Stacked club sandwich
A triple-decker is something with three layers or levels.
The term most commonly describes a sandwich with three slices of bread and two layers of filling: a club sandwich is a classic triple-decker.
It also applies to three-story residential buildings, especially the wooden multi-family houses common in New England cities.
Less frequently, triple-decker describes buses, beds, or other stacked structures.
